These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TeachMe, an online tuition platform operated by mzerone ("mzerone", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using TeachMe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. Who can use TeachMe
You must provide accurate registration details and keep them current. Students under 18 years of age may use TeachMe only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on the student's behalf. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and one-time verification codes confidential.
2. What TeachMe is
TeachMe is a marketplace that connects independent teachers with students and provides tools for classes, content, assessments, attendance and payments. Teachers are independent providers and are solely responsible for the classes they offer. mzerone is not the educator and does not guarantee any particular learning outcome.
3. Fees, payments and payouts
- Class fees are set by teachers and shown in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Plans may be monthly, per term, or one-time.
- mzerone charges teachers a flat platform fee on each successful payment. The teacher's net earnings are credited to their TeachMe balance and paid out on request, subject to verification.
- Payments are processed through our payment partners and supported methods (including bank deposit). You agree to pay all applicable fees.
4. Teacher responsibilities
- List classes accurately and deliver them as described.
- Provide accurate identity and bank details for verification (KYC) and payouts.
- You retain ownership of the content you upload and grant mzerone a licence to host, display and deliver it to your enrolled students through the platform.
5. Student responsibilities
- Course content, recordings and materials are for your personal learning only. Do not copy, share, resell or publicly post them.
- Do not record live classes or redistribute materials without the teacher's permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform — including attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting the service, uploading unlawful or infringing content, harassing others, or circumventing payment or access controls.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or applicable law, or where required to protect users or the platform. You may stop using TeachMe at any time; certain obligations (such as fees already due) survive termination.
8. Disclaimers and liability
TeachMe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, mzerone is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid through the platform in the three months before the claim.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
10. Changes and contact
